10:08:23 Dr_Kyna had only been back in the empire for a few weeks now, and was back at work on Project Arachnid. She had also discovered that she was pregnant after several mornings waking up sick, and a healer had confirmed it. This actually made her happy, since she would soon be a mother, but she would raise her child as a Caledonian, rather than as a Viking, especially since her child was a daughter and she knew that among the Vikings, girls were not allowed any sort of rank or power. That meant her daughter had to be raised as a Caledonian so that she could have a proper life.(E)
10:32:30 [Ria] The hollowed out shell of what used to be the largest of the hangars on Ria's little abandoned, possibly once upon a time military, airfield outside the city, was starting to look like new. Years of weather wear and the salty ocean air had taken their tole on the whole airfield, but everything had been well built, and all the structures were stable. No need for new foundations, just a bit of rust remover, a few window replacements, a new coat of pain, and a bit of fixing on the interior. Add some plumbing, replace the floors, and update the wiring and whatever, and voila! New house! Just need furniture, and a family... also Ria needed to finish building the very interactive fence that would keep her nieces and nephews safe, entertained, and away from the ocean where they might drown. Yes! The crimson haired engineer could be a worry wart! In exchange for helping her restore the old base for personal use, Ria had promised her older brothers that the two largest hangars would be converted to housing for them and their families. Given that they were finally turning their lives around, thanks to meeting the two wonderful women they were now married two, with a couple of kids each, how could she not offer them homes? It would certainly take the strain off her parents, as their family home had barely been big enough to support her family when they'd been kids, now it had 3 families in it. Not a great arrangement when you thought about it. Technically.... Ria was a Nord, making her small compared to the rest of her family who was all much bigger than her, including her twin who got the size, and natural abilities, where she ended up with most of the brains, and good looks... when she wasn't wearing men's cloths or coveralls, and caked in something she'd been scrubbing out of an engine compartment, or whatever. Her size and lack of ability to use much in the way of magic a few centuries ago would have probably been the end of her life. Bringing her thought train back to the present, and the task at hand, the Crimson haired engineer was currently using an empty hangar for a bit of private training. While she couldn't use magic as well as her fellows, Ria had a good grip on using her telekinesis to do things.... like pull entire engines apart, or break hands, or lift things she couldn't otherwise handle on her own. If she was touched, or freaked out things tended to explode, or break... the explosions weren't on purpose, and she didn't understand where that really came from either. Physical strength didn't extend much beyond human female standards, but she was otherwise very strong. Speaking of Engines, that was what she was currently using as a test dummy of sorts. Ria, dressed in her customary stained coveralls with the top half rolled down to tie the sleeves about her wast so that she had only a black under armor sports bra over a normal black sports bra, sat at the far end of the hangar, away from the large doors in the off chance someone brought in some craft that needed repairing, so she didn't get run over by some thoughtless dickhead not watching where exactly he was going and what might be in front, a very, very old engine sitting on a couple of study tables while she worked to take it apart... without simply pulling everything apart all at once. One of her weaknesses was that she wasn't good at making sure to keep everything undamaged when she took things apart with her mind. She just didn't seem like she had the will to concentrate hard enough to do things carefully, and without breaking them.
10:37:44 [Israh] With Israh’s newest interest on wanting to learn a newer style of combat. It meant she would need to get the proper equipment to deal with such a thing. First and foremost though was she needed to make sure that she was at least ready to travel away from the city for some time. She had already purchased a map that would aid her in how to get to the former City-State capital of Mylone. It was after all that direction she needed to travel in order to start her search for this person named Icarius. Also she had already packed herself a bag with a few days of food and some extra spices in case she were forced to hunt. She was going to be traveling by foot after all! At this very moment though she was going to visit a familiar leatherworker first to see if the outfit she had commissioned was finally complete. It was a good ten to fifteen minutes before Israh wandered out finally in her new leather attire. The leggings were not extremely right like most would have requested. Instead they were loose at the ankle and offered her the comfort of easily squatting down and upon her ankle would be seen a small anklet made of jade material. Her feet remained bare in this outfit just as she had liked it but she did have some boots commissioned with the outfit with the blacksmiths handy work of dull metallic plates about the shins for extra protection. The upper torso was bare though, providing coverage of just her chest area, shoulders and forearms. In the chest area there was added support for her in the molding of plates in between the stitched leather. It was the same with the shoulders but the leather that covered her arms only encompassed outer portion of her muscular biceps until they met with the wrist bracers that were fashioned similarly like the boots but with fingered gloves to keep them in the perfect position. The entirety of the top was fashioned as a single piece as well making it far more simpler and convenient for Israh, but all in all this allowed her the comfort she was used to as a younger woman in her own home land with the appearance of a Nordic native in this land, ESPECIALLY since now one could see clearly across her back the rune tattoo’s she had gained from the Archmage of the capital city. She also offered a bit extra to have the shop keeper keep hold of her old outfit until she returned from her little journey. Down the road she traveled only to enter the Blacksmith Kaenan’s workshop finally, newly dressed and far more local looking.
10:43:49 CommanderCaedras had not been upon the moon of Tuatha, though, then again, select few had. His perusing of personnel documents led him to a few interesting discoveries and he had been shuttling about and communicating over the Net with some of the candidates. The moon hadn't been far from the cruiser he was aboard, and he tasked several other officers to carry on the work with other. Hopeful candidates while he took his personal fighter craft to the science station on the moon over Caledon. Through vigorous screenings, and the use of his security clearance, the Federation Commander moved through the station at a deliberate pace, a black uniformed man who was dwarfed by the towering men and women of Caledon but no less proud or diminished in his aura of authority. Both hands, one flesh and the other mechanical, were clasped behind his back, the HUD implants in his eyes dancing with information that glowed slightly. He was directed to the labs of Project Arachnid, and their lead scientist. The doors opened with a hiss And he was escorted inside. With a flick of his hand and a nod, the guards departed as he moved about the lab, curious gaze lingering upon a few things. "Doctor Kyna, I presume? Commander Caedras, Federation Fleet, Joint Forces Task Force. I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions pertaining to your research and duties." The way he spoke, his physicality and those cybernetics clearly marked him as a non-Nord. Being of her height as well was another. His hair was trimmed short, neatly and his jawline was strong. He moved differently than the Caledonian's did with their swagger. More reserved, but no less certain. His gaze alighted on her.
10:54:06 Dr_Kyna was focused on her work, inspecting a genetic sample from Species 37 that had finally hatched and was showing promise. Only part of her body was visible to Caedras at the moment, and records on her did not include her age or a photo of her. When she heard Caedras enter, she would let him speak before replying "Ok, just give me a moment please, this sample is rather delicate, more so than Species Thirty Six" as she sighed. She would carefully put the sample back into its cryo-case with the other samples, placing them in a locked drawer. She then backed away from the counter into full view of Caedras, where he would see her fully for the first time. She had long, straight pale blonde, almost golden blonde hair, large and gentle blue eyes, and a beautiful heart shaped face. Her figure was great as well, though there was evidence of a baby bump as well, but it only added to her beauty, rather than detracted. She would smile at Caedras, a gentle smile that lit up her eyes and gave her an unearthly beauty. She would approach him "What is it that you would like to know Commander?" as she smiles.(E)
10:57:26 Kaenan was currently taking an inventory of his current stock, making notes of what he needed to replace. His swords, axes and maces tended to go quickly, as they were in high demand, but his spears, pikes, and halberds tended to be the least demanded, but he kept them stocked anyway, as there were adventurer's that preferred them. The spears tended to be in various lengths and were in several styles from the Dievethian style of spear, to the lethal and effective Aeyostan style of spear.<E>
11:05:40 [Israh] Although Israh wasn’t skilled in the wielding of a spear, she at least knew enough about weapons in general to understand just what she was looking for. When she spotted Kaenan with whatever device he used to keep tabs of his stock, she would speak up. “Hey there chief.” A nickname she’s come to call the man while she wandered in further to the establishment with boots draped over her shoulders, tied together. Her eyes did not remain on him though, instead they found their ways to the various pikes and spears he had, shifting over them all only to fall upon a set of spear poles that were not actually equipped with a spear tip. Merely, they could have spear heads attached to them. In particular, the shorter metallic shafts that she seemed to look upon and then over to the wooden shafts with metallic fixtures to keep the spear heads upon them. “hmmm…” she hummed to herself before moving over towards them all. One hand ran across the wooden shafts of the spears for a moment, feeling the grains of the wood in her hand before letting her other hand fall to the metallic ones. Her eyes were focused now though. No doubt she was trying to decide upon the pros and cons between the two weapons.
11:06:45 CommanderCaedras waited politely off to the side as she continued her work, not daring to interrupt the process. Who knew what they were working on, in any case. Besides, this laboratory was her sanctum. Decorum above all things. When she came into view, there was a moment of surprise at seeing someone so young in that position. Hypocritical of him, perhaps, but nonetheless surprising given her record. His salute was sharp and crisp, almost reflexive given it's precision. "Your work in research and development is what garnered my attention. Specifically in military designs. I was rather curious as to what designs you are familiar with, in terms of galactic races. Caledonian, Kalean, etcetera." Calmly, he made his way opposite her desk, hands clasped behind his back once again, posture straight. Her appearance hardly seemed to bother him, it seemed, though her stomach earned an odd look.
11:13:31 Dr_Kyna smiles "I have some knowledge, yes, in particular on Caledonian, Intai'sei, and Hjaamarch weaponry" as she smiled. She had used a overall term for technology that came from the civilizations in the Hjaalmarch Quadrant. She noticed his look and her hand went to her stomach "A souvenier during my time with the Star Vikings, I'm not sure what happened to be honest, but all I know is that I woke up in his bed, and shortly after I was returned, I discovered I was pregnant" as she smiles, affectionately rubbing her belly. While she held no emotional attachment to the father of her child, it was obvious that she was looking forward to her childs arrival and to motherhood. She looked back to Caedras "Right now however, I am working on Project Arachnid, and so far, I have managed to create two hybrid breeds, Species Thirty Six and Thirty Seven, Thirty Six had great quantities of high quality silk, but proved far too aggressive" as she smiles.(E)
11:16:00 Kaenan chuckles as Israh entered his shop "Hey there lass, what brings you to my shop today, besides that order you made, which is sitting there on the counter by the way" as he continued taking stock. Her order was truly complete, from the quality of the metal, to the quality of the engravings and gems set into the engravings. It was one of his oddest pieces, but the quality of the item was superb, and since it was a rare commission, he had made it from the best quality materials he could get.<E>
11:20:20 CommanderCaedras seems surprised at the mention of Intai'Sei technology but took it in stride. A most definitive asset, that. At the mention of the baby and that event, he looked decidedly uncomfortable. "A rather...er...rapid gestation...period..." He said awkwardly before clearing his throat. "Arachnid breeds? Hm. The silks are used for a number of things, I read. Medical fibres, military textiles, and so on. I can imagine that they would serve excellently for, well, crash webbing in a craft." The play on words amused him, making him grin slightly. "I am sorry if your capture of the Vikings was..." He seemed uncertain how to proceed there, and looked away for a moment. "What is it you hope to achieve with your work here, Doctor? For the Empire?"
11:26:18 [Israh] “Hmm? You’re shitting me!” She said surprised and turned around to spot the massive frying pan of a war hammer she had ordered. The look of it almost literally made her squeal with excitement before completely forgetting about the spears. Well, for now at least. Over to the weapon she wandered and hefted the massive object up in one hand. The Frying Pan part of the weapon was capable of covering Israh while she stood and the shaft itself was no doubt a bit longer than her. The engraving of the runes with the inlaid Jade gems were looked upon and her fingers slowly ran over them with a grin. “Ahh…it’s wonderful.” She stated and then lifted the object just a bit higher now with both hands on the shaft to look up at the weapon before nodding. “Perfect. I’ve got plenty of bones on me to pay for it since I started working as a Hunter and still had the stuff Brennus had given me.” She turned around and looked to Kaenan with a smirk. “Problem is I’m about to head on out so I will need to leave it here. I can pay for it in full now though…” She stated and similar to her last set of clothes, worked to pull what appeared to be a leather pouch up from within her clothes. It was pretty large but her loose clothes offered her plenty of room to hide the object. “There is more than enough to pay for the weapon in here…so I’m going to get some stuff I can take with me.” She turned to look at Kaenan and grinned, then actually opened the bag up and poured the entire contents of it onto the counter. She had another small stash of bones from the mammoth job she had earned elsewhere in the city to be used for another time, but for now she needed to make sure to equip herself with a few other things. “I need a small knife…” She stated and pointed to the short spears. “One of those short spear shafts and however many tips for them I can get with this. I’m going to be looking for someone near the old city of Mylone. The emperor mentioned a man there that was damn good with a spear. I intend to find him and have him teach me…unless you think I should keep the Pan with me for some reason or another?”
11:27:24 Dr_Kyna laughs "Well, if my work succeeds, and I have every reason to believe it will, then I will have created a breed of spider that isn't dangerous to harvest silk from, if you wish to see, come over to the Vision Lacrima by the wall" as she smiled and walked over. She then keyed up the remote cameras in the chamber where Species 37 currently was isolated. The spiders within were a stark white in color, and appeared rather delicate, and the truth was, they were, which was not ideal. But they were very docile, as could be confirmed by the presence of several people that sat huddled in one corner of the chamber. They were death row inmates, sentenced to death, but rather than being killed outright, they were going to be used in experiments that would yield great benefits to the empire. In the case of the silk, it would likely become a valuable trade commodity, since spider silk was a rare commodity right now, as the best producers of commercial and military grade spider silks were also very dangerous to work with.(E)
11:35:29 Kaenan looks at Israh and then the pan "If your heading to Mylone, then your looking for Icarius Belras, he lives in Cymide, which is known for having the greatest spear fighters" as he looked at her. He then walked over to one of the racks "If your going to be trained by him, then you need a spear that won't break easily, and won't need replacing that often, fortunately, most spears these days are able to replace the spearheads" as he selected a good medium length spear. He would then hand it to her "This should be what you need, and I'll give you a bag of spare spearheads as well, but you likely won't have to replace the current head on the spear for a while, also, there are knives in the display cases in front of the counter to choose from" as he smiles.<E>
11:42:19 CommanderCaedras observed beyond the window, brow furrowed as he watched. The creature was in decidedly large, and gave him pause. He was used to the safety of the bridge or the cockpit. He recalled the rather live simulation Ashrienne brought him into and fought back a shudder. Still, he stood next to Kyna and did not break his gaze at the creature and the inmates before him. An appropriate task for those men, he deemed. "I meant in the overral scheme of things, doctor. Not this project. The Empire and several races may face a greater threat still. Your skillset is an asset, I've found. Your versatility with alien technology and more than respectable intellect no small consideration." It wasn't flattery, the way he stated it. More like fact. "What would you do if the Empire was threatened?" He looked her way, a small comfort in actually being eye level with someone.
11:45:35 [Israh] Looked upon the spear that was handed to her and nodded before taking it and then turning to look down at the display case of knives. She just needed one that would be good for skinning and fileting game while on the travel. Eventually she chose one of the smaller knives that reminded her of something she would have used in the kitchen for more precise work. She didn’t need anything too large after all. When this and everything else was ready. Israh took the spear and knife (and if Kaenan advised it her Frying Pan as well) and then left for her current residence within the Hunter Guild hall. She rented a tiny room from them, and thankfully she had paid up for a few months on her room so she was able to keep SOME things in there for the time being. Upon returning to the guild hall and wandering down into the tiny closet of a room she had taken residence in that was just large enough for a twin sized bed, a small table and a wall like mirror. Israh would grab the pack she had readied and slipped the knife as well as the bag of extra blades into it. “Alright. That should be about it for now. Going to need to find Kishy to see if she wants to come along and have some fun on the road, or if she’s wanting to remain here.” From there, she opened the door and made her way out of the guild with the spear in hand her bag on her shoulders. It felt good to have some new clothes though that offered her the chance to feel the ground once more. Was nice.
11:46:56 Dr_Kyna smiles "Well, I did find that Species Thirty Six could be used as a weapon, their aggressive, and have a short incubation cycle of roughly around twelve days, if they could be controlled, they would make excellent weapons, and their also strong and fast, but for conventional weapons, well, I do have some designs that are in the prototype stages, and have yet to be field tested, a battle rifle design, and there is a tank mounted main cannon that needs testing as well, both are experimental combinations of Caledonian and Intai'sei technology" as she smiles.(E)
11:50:04 [Kisharra] << It didn't take Israh that long to find the feline - in fact, Kisharra had actually been following her while remaining out of sight. Settled upon a roof nearby the guildhalls was Kisharra; who idly peered at the woman before licking her hand and then rose it to rub it against her head " <meow> " She emitted before leaping from the roof and landing rather elegantly upon her paws and hands " Lookit you " She mused; pushing from her hands and standing up quickly before yawning slightly >>
11:50:48 CommanderCaedras listened as she spoke. He had been about to say something else but one of them caught his attention. "Doctor. Are you familiar with any of the weapons systems aboard cruisers or stations? Such as for firing logs and weapon calibrations?" He asked, a little excitement forming in the pit of his stomach. Caedras turned to face her completely now. "I've no interest in those creature's at the moment. However a genetic marvel they may be. They are not as critical to my task at hand."
11:57:38 [Israh] The shadow of Kisharra upon the nearby roof top was the instant trigger to let Israh know where the feline was located. Well, it was either that or Batman, but considering the universe they were in…HAD to be Kisharra. Upon landing before Israh and mentioning how she looked, Israh would simply grin and raise her free arm to flex her bicep which made a horrifying mass of muscle bulge upward that even some men here would instantly jaw drop at. “Not much but at least I get to show off more now.” Her visible abdomen was a six pack of rock hard lumps but if she had been able to see up just a bit past the leather that covered the rest of Israh’s upper torso, she would notice that six pack was actually an eight pack. Without the Kevlar woven compression outfit she was wearing, her body type was something both amazing to view and seemingly freakish. “So! I’m going to be heading off to meet this Spear wielder Icarius. Got word that he’s in a town called Cymid which is somewhere near an old city called Mylone. Want to come with? To get there we got to travel through the wild and it should prove to be some fun.” She placed her freehand now on her hip. The fingered gloves that met the metal plated and leather wrapped bracers sounding out their stretching to get used to Israh’s movements.
12:03:45 [Kisharra] << She had to be truthful; she'd seen worse... At least she didn't look like a dog gone wrong, nor did she had four arms, which was good. With a small shrug she blinked and rolled her eyes " I can't deal with that " She voice openly before scratching at one of her ears " Show off.... " Kish would rolls her eyes and turned before shaking her head softly and grinning.. " Yeah well... I got nothing better to do have I " She spoke; seemingly agreeing to go with Israh... Kisharra hoped they'd find something to fight... She was getting antsy >>
12:14:46 Dr_Kyna frowns as she considered what he said "There is a way to do it, but as far as I know, it only affects technology like what the Intai'sei and Kalleans use, one moment" as she walked over to a series of filing cabinets and began to search through them. After a few moments she brought over a file of parchments "I did some research a while back, it was actually what got me a position in Imperial R&D rather than privately employed, but you can cause a glitch in weapon and sensor logs by beaming a concentrated Ion Pulse Beam at a ship, its nearly undetectable and nearly impossible to trace, and my research was on a way to detect this type of beam as well as to trace it, I even got a prototype made, but it never got past the prototype stage unfortunately" as she sighed.(E)
12:15:18 [Israh] A tilt of her head was given before she wandered up behind Kisharra and placed a hand to the felines shoulder, then pulled her close and actually bumped heads gently with her. “I won’t force you to come. Like I said, You’re free to do what you want when not working so long as you don’t go around just killing people. Figured you would enjoy being out of the city for a while though.” She then pulled her head back and winked to Kisharra. “So if you have something you need to take care of before we go, let’s go take care of it. If not, let’s head on out to get on the road. With the constant attacks that’s been happening here in the city I would much rather head on out before we get stuck here for a few more days.” She would wait for Kisharra to make mention of if she had anything to do and follow her about if that were the case. If not, then Israh would instead make her way towards the city gates to head off out to the wilds.
12:21:51 CommanderCaedras perked up a little at the mention of this research. There was a wolfish wariness to his gaze as he observed the documents she placed upon the table, his eyes scanning these archaic bits of parchment. "Did you work alone on this project, Doctor? If not, I would like to know the names of your associates. Lastly, I may need you to turn your attention to this project. I need to know what the optimum distance would be to fire one of these devices. It will create a sphere of reference for the investigation. Where is this prototype located? We will need to verify it is still there." It seemed he came alive at the thought of some sort of lead, classifying the relevant data and storing it in his memory for later use. A very possible avenue of investigation, if one of these scientists or the prototype were involved. "Such a device could affect Kallean, Caledonian and even Viking technology?" His intent gaze was very much on her now.
12:28:53 Dr_Kyna shook her head "I worked with several others, two of whom work in Imperial R&D with me, the other I am not so sure of, he vanished a few years ago, Jebidiah Onsen I think his name was, and the prototype is stored in the Imperial R&D Archives at the Mistveil facility on Caledon, guarded by the Crimson Mustangs" as she looked at him. She looked back to her notes "To be effective, I theorized that you would have to be within a five hundred thousand kilometer radius of the intended target, a relatively short distance, and as far as I know, Caledonian Magitech is unaffected by Ion Pulse Beams, but Kallean, Intai'sei, and Star Viking technology would most certainly be affected" as she picked up a particular sheet. She frowned "Wait a moment, something is wrong here, the schematics should be here, but their missing, and I know I had them before I was given the position with Imperial R&D, but that means someone took them before I left, and I didn't check" as she shook her head, trying to recall when the last time she looked at the notes.(E)
12:35:07 [CommanderCaedras] "Noted, Doctor," he responded, making sure to take note of the facility and the missing member of the team. The missing blueprints were something alarming however. Still, having fought against Kallean ships in brief border skirmishes, he had an inkling the ion based technology might not be as effective as the Doctor had surmised. And with the Caledonian's resistant to the device, that meant perhaps the Sons terrorist group that spurred the conflict between the Vikings and the Caledonian's might have something to do with that. "I will have the facility security notified and another team gathered to investigate, Doctor." He wasn't sure what to make of it all, but regardless, it was something he stood for a few seconds, chewing on his thoughts.
12:38:52 [Kisharra] << The cat wasn't sure why this girl was soo, touchy feely to her all the time.. Then again, she couldn't help it if she was adorably beautiful could she. Still, when Israh took her words literally, Kisharra found herself laughing at the woman " Hehehehe.... Seriously.. I was plain' around " She responded before grinning " Don't have to take me so literaly all the time... I was gonna come.. I have to stretch my legs anyway, and this city is BORING! " She spoke; while clapping her hands together and keeping pace with the woman " So uhh... I dunno... How long you think it'd take us to get there? " What was she planning? >>
12:56:46 Dr_Kyna nods "I am sure the Crimson Mustangs will confirm the prototype is still in the archives, but if someone has perfected it, it could have greater capabilities, thoush still be unable to affect Caledonian magitech, only the Kalleans were affected, correct?" as she looked at Caedras.
13:01:49 CommanderCaedras took a few seconds to respond. "I will confer with these Crimson Mustangs myself. I've reason to believe the Vikings were as well. A similar situation occurred prior to the Kalleans. Food for thought..." He responded, bringing one hand up to cup his chin in thought. "There may be a few matters I would require your expertise, and silence, on behalf of the Emperor and the citizens of many civilizations. We stand on the brink of galactic war and everyone out there is to eager to pull the trigger than get to the bottom of it first." Caedras seemed disgusted at that, and more than a little irritated. He found it far too childish. Such death and destruction because no one stopped to ask why, first? He shook his head. "Can the Emperor trust you in this, Doctor? Can I?" Caedras turned to face her once more.
13:03:55 [Israh] Three weeks. That is how long it took for Israh to get from the Capital city to Mylone and then to the small town of Cymid. The journey to this location was pretty interesting no doubt. Lots of dangers but also a lot of fun! While Israh had only packed enough food for 3 days worth of travel, the fact that she made sure to bring with her the basic gear needed to cook food and survive as well as some good spices to make the meats a lot more flavorful helped a lot! No doubt by now Kisharra had fallen in love with Israh’s cooking also considering she made sure it was both juicy and bloody for the feline, while Israh’s herself was still rare but not as bloody. The only downfall was the fact that Israh could use a good soak in some hot water, but all in all she seemed to be perfectly fine in her own element. Dirty and encrusted hard feet. Leather armor now well worn and used to Israh’s movements. Stained hands that look like they have seen quite a bit of blood from cleaning the carcass of dead yet edible creatures along the way. It was almost like she were a smaller version of the Nords of old. Focused eyes looked about the general location of the outer town, village or whatever they preferred to call Cymid for a good while before finally turning around to look towards Kisharra. “I think this is the place.” She stated with a half smirk before turning to look back to the town.
13:10:04 Icarius was currently at the training school he operated, where young men and women of many races came to learn the way of the spear. Icarius himself was sitting on a bench observing their movements, and every now and then would get up to correct the stance of one or two trainees. Cymide was not a very large city, rather small by Aeyostan standards, but it was famous for the skilled spear fighters they produced. Icarius himself was one of the best, and had scored many victories on the field of battle, as well as in the arenas. He had amassed so much wealth that he had been able to buy a nice home and set up a school to train others in his style of spear fighting, which he called the Tundra Scorpion style. It was a lethal and deadly style to be sure, and many that had faced him called him Icarius the Scorpion, and there had been few to survive their fights with him. The city itself was built of white marble, with fluted pillars and other monuments scattered throughout the city. Another thing that Israh and Kisharra would likely notice was that most of the people wandering the streets on their daily business wore a different style of clothing from those in Ptolus, though that was because Ptolus was further north, and required warmer clothing to deal with the colder climate there.<E>
13:11:14 [Kisharra] << Kisharra however - the journey had been... Interesting.. Way more interesting than she'd previously thought it would be. In the three weeks that had paased; the feline had changed somewhat, not much, but enough so that she wasn't completely... Well, she was still insanely crazy, but she knew when to put a lid on it. The feline had gone to scout a head for a while before returning to Israh and letting the woman know she'd found something - and as such, it appeared that the three week long journey had finished, though she really couldn't wait for the return trip.. With a soft yawn, and an over-exaggerated stretch; Kisharra would grin widely and canted her head " I figured it'd be bigger.. Then again... You are doin' stick training so... I ain't fetchin' it for you if you throw it Ishy " The feline responded; winking in her direction before lowering her arms and standing beside her. Kisharra; despite the three weeks of travel looked; well, about as normal as she usually did - she'd kept herself clean, and sort of presentable, coughed up a few hairballs... Which had sort of caused Israh to laugh at her... " Ugh... Hate places like this.. Too clean " She mentioned; pouting lightly. >>
13:21:42 [Israh] The cooler climates didn’t bother her too much thanks to several reasons on her journey. Never the less her gaze would return to Kisharra once more from the city and then grin. “Kishy. Fetch is for pets, not partners.” She was using that ‘matter of fact’ tone to show she was telling Kisharra she would never be considered anything demeaning in Israh’s eyes. Soon enough though she returned her sights to that of the city before her and then shrugged. “Eh, a good cleaning is something I need anyways…but trust me when I say I didn’t come here to stay clean. I came here to learn a new fighting style and to get dirty if needed.” With that, she made her way down the hill side they were currently on and towards the city of white marble. Upon entering she would ask the nearest person where she would be capable of finding someone named Icarius Barlas. The people obviously knew who he was but withheld some information due to her appearance before she finally admitted her coming here to learn from him. When this happened, they were more than happy to point her in the direction of where she wanted to go and as such made her way through the city pretty easily. Stopping only when she finally reached the school where Icarius was located. “Chances are killing isn’t allowed here like in the last city…” She stated and turned to look to Kisharra. “After we find out if this guy will train me or not, want to look for a place to sleep for the night or make way back to the forest for the evening? You seem to sleep pretty well under the stars.”
13:42:28 [Kisharra] << Since Israh had gone to learn... Stuff; Kisharra was left by herself, which in a way hurt after spending three weeks with the same person.. In truth, she felt somewhat abandoned; and as such she found a place in the city where she could have a good view - which just so happened to be some form of bench. Slumping down upon it; her tail curled about her; allowing the feline to hug it protectively before sniffing " <meow> Why do I feel so depressed " With a small pout she blinked and rolled her eyes before laying upon her side and allowed her legs to pull themselves up against her frame >>
15:54:17 Dr_Kyna looks at Caedras and laughs softly "Commander, to even work for Imperial R&D, everyone has to undergo exhaustive vetting, and even at the end of that we are questioned under the influence of the truth spell, and some of us are even geased to keep certain projects secret, we couldn't divulge those secrets even if we wanted to, everyone knows about the Tibyn Arytissi implants for example, but they don't know how to make them, thats because even if a Arytissi falls in battle, the implants dissolved into simple protein chains and can't be reconstructed, its one of our most carefully guarded secrets, even the Arytissi themselves don't know how to make the implants" as she smiles. His question of her loyalty had garnered amusement, which was a clear sign that she was loyal, if she had acted insulted, that would have indicated that she was hiding something.(E)
16:00:35 CommanderCaedras kept his gaze level, as he also did his voice. “Yet plans are missing,” he retorted. It was a simple fact that she saw with her own eyes. Not all were loyal. And with the hostilities enacted upon a number of galactic races, it was a legitimate question. He let that statement sit in, the truth at odds with what she just said. Her smile, her appearance did not seem to fluster him or distract him, as it probably would have others. However, her willingness was something in her favor. The Federation soldier nodded, slowly. “I suppose we will see, Doctor. I may have need to call upon you again for your expertise. Expect security to be in contact with you concerning this prototype.”
17:06:56 Dr_Kyna looks at Caedras "Yes, they are missing, however, I know that I haven't misplaced them, and I would never sell or give anything like that to anyone, the Emperor himself even questioned me when I first took up this position, which means someone took the plans before I was offered a position here at Imperial R&D" as she looked at Caedras. She then remembered something "I can't believe I forgot, Jebidiah, the other student that worked on the project, he often commented on how much money our research could make, I think he is the one that stole the plans, I was in charge of the project, so I was the only one that had the complete schematics" as she frowned.(E)
17:15:09 CommanderCaedras nodded. “Seeing as how he has gone missing, it would seem like an obvious conclusion. I was simply stating, as made evident, not all who have gone through the same rigorous screening as you have remained loyal. There are none who are without fault. Greed is a simple, yet powerful motivator.” Caedras regarded her for a moment. “If you've any questions, please feel free to ask. I've some time left before I must return to my duties. If not, then I shall allow you to return to yours.” As he spoke, that light on his eyes shifted and changed as he brought up the secure channel of the station to alert them of the theft and to begin the investigation regarding this former scientist. His fingers twitched and moved as he typed and finished the communication.
17:19:11 Dr_Kyna shakes her head "He was never offered a position in Imperial R&D, he left right before me and the other two were offered positions, but I didn't think to check our notes, but I believe he stole them when I was in the process of sealing them, and he waited until after I had checked to make sure everything was there" as she sighs and shakes her head, obviously feeling foolish and stupid for not making absolutely sure everything had been where it was supposed to be.(E)
17:24:27 [CommanderCaedras] “Then best to make certain something like that does not happen again, no? Last thing Caledon needs is an army of hybrid space arachnids dropping from the skies,” he said, making it almost sound like a joke. Almost. “If you've no questions, Doctor, then I will take my leave. Seems I've stirred up enough trouble for one day.” He waited for a moment if she did have a question or two. If she did not, however, he would offer her a salute and be on his way.
17:33:46 Velpis messed with a screen as Velpis made an odd sound to himself, following along with some music. The ship was pleasent right now with the alliance created with the Star Vikings. Everything was pretty well even, not many people among his crew complained and not even the twins did as well. The Artifical Intelligence was fixed up with a newer program update and finally there was women on the ship. Velpis however did not partake in what most men wanted yet he wanted to find something beyond what most could not comprehend. After some...extraction of information, he had what he wanted from the frigates officer and had him eliminated personlly and put the frigate in the docking port of The Black Heart. Still examining the ships controls and getting a pilot trained for it with one of the simulator programs. Velpis made that weird sound again as he went through some of his Rift maps till he finally found a world, selecting it as the ship shuddered a moment then activated the Jump Drive as it flew for only half a minute in the slip stream but then arrived as Velpis got up, pulling out both of his slug pistols from their holsters as he walked out of the cockpit, whispering to himself as he turned around in the turbo lift, examining the molten planet. "Yippie yi Ohhhh...Yippie yi yaaaaay...Ghost Riders in....the sky." The doors closed as he went down to the docking bay. E
18:12:45 Velpis gets to the docking bay as he blinked a few times at the old shuttle. The wings fold upwards which made no sense but whatever, more compact in design Velpis guessed. Getting onto the shuttle as there was a rear mounted burst firing beam weapon on the back in case they were chased by anything rather evil. A few men that volunteered went with him as they were very well armed. The twins staying on board the command vessel to keep an eye on the situation. Sitting in the command chair of this ship, he flicked a few switched as the ship undocked, a loud CLANK as the ship lifted up slowly and drifted forward out of the bay towards the Magma like planet. Several minutes would pass as the soldiers realized they were not going towards the planet itself. "Captain, I thought we were going to the pla-" The soldiers question was answered as a large orbital space station presented itself, a small wheel shaped design with an old compass insigna finishing the inside of it. "What...the hell." Velpis smiled to himself as the shuttle flew closer, the red paint on the station has worn off as he spoke a bit louder. "A recorded event nearly two hundred and twenty years ago some explorers designed a station near this section of the Rift. Their goal was to see if there was any safe passage in or out of the system. They lost contact within the first month however giving that they are explorers...some maps may still remain from their short life span." The shuttle was prompted with docking as he selected the lowest one on the wheel, flying towards it as people put on helmets and armor to perpare for the station. Letting auto-dock procedures take place, Velpis slowly got up as he put the goggles properly on his face and slowly twisted the lens as a black mesh slowly covered the males face and head, covering it to the neck as the eyes were the only things not concealed but hidden behind the goggles. Putting on some armor himself, he nodded at his crew as the doors would open for who knows what this can hold. One is for sure, this will be one hell of an adventure. E
18:41:05 Velpis went through the old steel hallways as it creaked loudly with each step. None of them were aiming as the stations life signs showed no life was on this station. They got to the elevator as it clunked as one of the soldiers groaned. "Boss, the room on your left there is a power box I saw while walking. Go in and switch it on." Normally as the Captain he would argue but with people in good spirits, Velpis let it go for today as he went into the room and messed with the wiring for a moment, switching it on. "Alright boys, I got her back on!" Walking back to the hallway he noticed no one was there. "Guys?" Turning a few times he heard the elevator starting to come down as he heard some odd hiss. "What the..." Turning on his goggles sound detector, he looked around as some odd sound was heard in the left vent which was large. Ducking just to look, he wish he had not as it was covered in guts as though it was made to be clogged up as another noise in the front of him got his attention. Turning off sound detection as he lifted up both of his pistols as the hiss returned as the DING was heard, the elevator opening as he backed into it and hit the button to go up towards to the command bridge. Breathing slightly normal as the doors closed, the elevator made the slow descent upwards. "F$*@ing great..." Another DING as the doors slid open as Velpis slowly got out, making his way to the bridge as there was no bodies anywhere, no signs of distress as he walked to the command console which still had some power. A blinking BACK-UP option was displayed as Velpis pressed it. A odd siren wailed as it spoke rather loudly to the command bridge. "I AM BACKING UP THE DATA! APRIL FOOLS FOR THE ALARM!" Velpis face under the mask was of pure shock as he turned quickly at another hiss, looking around as a distinct DING was heard and a chip slid out. Grabbing it rather face with his off-hand, he put it into his jacket and slowly went to the elevator, pushing the button to go down. The elevator creeks as a TWANG was heard as the elevator rushed down, Velpis trying to hold something as a loud CRASH was heard then blackness.

There was a another hiss as the hatch up top broke and on instinct, aimed both his slug pistols and fired repeatedly till he was dry firing. The hiss died as there was a loud THUNK and a SNNNNKKK, burnt metal was smelled as Velpis looked down at the creature. It was made of some form of white mush as he groaned as he needed some form of light to properly see it as he hit the button on the elevator again. "Great...what else can go wrong?" SNAP! The elevator started to plummet rather fast as Velpis swore to the top of his lungs as a loud THUD was heard and Velpis was knocked out cold. E
20:17:25 Emperor_Winter-Wolf simply looked at Aveah "I don't think so, you don't have any authority over me, and you have no idea just who you are attacking, I warn you now, cease your attack, or you will face severe consequences" as he gazed steadily at Aveah. The fact that he was looking straight at Aveah had her crew stunned, for no one had dared do that around her. Then there was the fact that he towered over all of them, a fact that had many of the crew shaking with terror. He had seen others like Aveah before, and knew precisely how to deal with her, though what would happen depended on her next move.<E>
20:25:01 Aveah raised a brow at him no one had ever dared speak to her in such a way. ”You don’t scare me. Your threats mean nothing.” She grinned quickly turning towards the crew. ”Don’t act like such babies this is my ship. He cannot tell you what to do. Continue with my orders.” She snapped at them all balling a fist at her side. She wasn’t going to back down his threats meant nothing. Even if he attempted anything she wouldn’t go down easily. The men looked between the two of them fear in their eyes. The question on their minds now was who to fear more their Queen or the new man?
