Day 12 of Project Arachnid
Its been 12 days since I was assigned to oversee Project Arachnid. Its an ambitious goal to create or modify a species of spider to be less aggressive and produce enough silk of high quality to make clothing and armor manufacture less expensive. I eliminated modifying an existing species within a few days of being assigned, too many variables and unknowns to make it cost-effective, so I decided to create a new species of spider instead. Hopefully Species 16 as I am calling the First Batch will show some progress at least.

Day 17 of Project Arachnid
I succeeded in creating Species 16 and placed the new genetic strands into cloned spider eggs that have been rendered genetically neutral. Now I must wait for the eggs to incubate in the testing chamber and hatch before testing can begin. The project has received additional government funding on top of the private funding, as well as a shipment of death row inmates for use in testing the aggressiveness of the spiders.
