10:06:17 Andreas` looked at the young queen, and she was very young by Nord, Elven, and Dwarven standards. He would then nod "Very well, I will reduce the terms to eight percent of your young men and women every ten years, and fifteen percent on domestic and finished goods, though the original offer will be presented to all other nations of this world" as he smiles. In truth,he was pleased that the queen had made such a counter-offer, the first offer was a test so to speak, and she had passed with flying colors. He then smiled "Now that you've accepted, a basewill be set up next to this city, and a battle station placed in orbit where defense forces will protect your people" as he looks at the young queen.
10:18:40 [Marisa] The queen nodded. "As long as your base will not interfere with our daily lives. As our kind will learn your ways when they follow you, I hope that your kind living here will take to ours." She gave a small smile to the man. "Of course, as I hope that our ways will not be stamped out of our young one's minds, so too shall we try to remember you have your own customs." In other words, she won't force every aspect of their life on the ones who would settle here as long as they take at least to the public standards. Theydon't need the same beliefs and combat styles and such, but she hoped his kind would take to the type of market, jobs, and the like they had on their own planet. "We just wish to maintain our own way of life, even in your empire." And then, a short pause. "... How soon do you need for first payment?"

11:01:31 Andreas` chuckles softly "No need to worry, every member world is allowed self-rule, and their beliefs, traditions as well as their customs remain intact, and the soldiers stationed at the base will not impact your peoples lives, though there will be regular patrols, other than that, your people will live their lives normally, and new technologies will be introduced in stages at regular intervals to give people time to adjust before the next set" as he smiled. He then shook his head "The first collection won't be for another five years, this is to give your people time to recover" as he smiles.<E>
11:18:08 Marisa gave a small nod. "Thank you for that." A sigh came to her lips as he said that they'd have five years to recover from this attack. "And as you no doubt noticed, we had a war with the Imperials before this, so the grace period is appreciated. However, I do give permission for you to visit the Milita regiments that will allow you to, so you can see if there are any members that wish to travel with you righ away. Please be aware though, that since you said the mandatory collection is in five years, that I wish for this to be entirely voluntary." However, it didn't take long for Marisa to speak up. "I will go, My Lady. Perhaps a brighter future awaits me in the stars." A nod comes from the queen. "It seems you have your first volunteer. Now please, I have a lot to plan for your people's integration with our society." It seemed that was the end of the meeting with the queen.
11:22:40 Andreas` smiles and bows "Of course your majesty, Emperor Winter-Wolf will be pleased by this, he may contact you personally before too long, like me, he was Lord Marshal of our military before he was coronated as Emperor" as he smiles. He then stood up and exited the room, once outside of the throne room he would look at Marisa "Your more than welcome to join us, and could I ask you to request all militia regiments to form outside the city? I wish to speak with them personally, and ask for volunteers" as he smiles gently to the young girl. She would likely notice that unlike the Imperials and Gallians, he did not seem to care about her appearance, but then considering the multi-racial make-up of the II Legion, this was hardly surprising.
11:29:15 Marisa blinked as she was asked if she could coordinate the militia regiments to form outside the city. "I.. can try." she muttered, looking away. "Not to be rude, Sir, but perhaps it's best if I do it. Not that I personally mind what race someone is, but not all in our nation feel that way." It was hard to explain, the hatred for the Darcsens. To some, it was deep-seeded, a belief passed down through generations that Darcsens were just bad news. Others, like Welkin, simply didn't care. Either way, they'd head off to tell Eleanor, and while she could only account for the 3rd regiment squads, she had said that 'the other regiments would try to, but there were no promises as they were busy cleaning up after war in various parts of Gallia.' Indeed, after an hour, only the 3rd regiment squads had set up shop. Still, with ten squads of twenty people each, that was a total of 200 to choose from. What Andreas may have noticed is the lack of people who looked like Marisa -- and perhaps he'd remember what Welkin had said. Indeed, it wasn't to spite him, but it seemed that there was some kind of bias towards her kind. In every regiment of twenty, there seemed to be, at most, only 5 Darcsen, and most only had two or three. -e-
11:36:58 Andreas` looked at Welkin and nodded as he made his way to the meeting point, fully aware that all may not be able to make it, it didn't matter though, the announcement would reach them all eventually in any case. When he approached the 3rd Regiment that had formed up, along with their commander, Eleanor. They would see a abnormally tall man with long brown hair, the start of a beard, pale blue eyes, and odd looking markings covering parts of his face and neck. He wore the standard Caledonian uniform with minimal decoration and braiding, his rank insignia clearly visible on his shoulder and beret. Welkin, Alicia, and Marisa all three knew that he had fought alongside his men, rather than commanding from the rear like many of their own officers in the regular military. He would look up and down the lines as he stood before them "I give my greetings to you all, some of you may be wondering who I am, my name is Andreas Winter-Wolf of the Caledonian Empire, who recently came to your aid against... those that would have wiped out all life on this world simply to take your resources, I am also Lord Marshal of the Caledonian military, in your terms, that would be similar in nature to your General of the Army rank or similar rank you use, the reason why I have asked for all of you here is to extend an offer to you all to join the Imperial Guard, your nation has joined the empire as a member nation, and eventually, possibly this entire world will join, but until thin, it is only your nation, Gallia will receive protection, resources and technology from us, and in return Gallia will provide fifteen percent of all domestic and finished goods, and eight percent of all young men and women every ten years, there is currently a rest period, but your queen has given her blessing to ask for volunteers now, any that volunteer will be garunteed citizenship status in the empire, and they will receive pay and benefits equal to their position, so, those that wish to join the Imperial Guard, step... forward" as he smiled. He named the Imperial Guard simply because he had noticed that Gallia was landlocked, so the Imperial Guard was a better match rather than the Imperial Navy. He would need to ask about the Darcsen, since he had picked up on Welkin's undertone, and the hesitancy in Marisa's voice.<E>
11:49:51 Marisa would step forward, of course, as she had already volunteered in the queen's hall. Some raised eyebrows, others coughed and looked away. The fact that a Darcsen was joining was enough that some wouldn't volunteer, but he'd notice a few other Darcsen joining and a few non-Darcsen. Altogether, out of the 200 that were there, about 20 stepped forward. 10% -- not bad for people who used to be everyday people living off the land, shops, or other everyday things. The reason they could fight so well? Because their schools had a required military course that all citizens had to take. While a peaceful and normally neutral nation, this was to ensure that, in case they ever were attacked, they had some sort of defense against their attackers. This didn't mean that they were all born fighters, or loved war -- in fact, most were conscripted via Gallian law, and while happy to serve their country, just wanted their lives to go back to normal. So, while only twenty stepping forward may have seemed like a paltry few, all things considered, it was a wonder that even that many stepped forward. Especially when a Darcsen was the first to come forward.

12:05:41 Andreas` nodded when the 20 stepped forward, but he had also noticed how some treated Marisa and the other Darcsen. His eyes narrowed as he reached down and took his mace from the belt, and was suddenly surrounded by a torrent of divine magic, the brightness making everything clearer, as if they would be seeing things clearly for the first time. His brown hair swirled in the wind that was caused, though his expression never changed and when he spoke, his voice seemed amplified and echoing on itself "Ithquenti di mitne vur martivir, nymuer sia coe, nif wer haet di nomenes batobot jilg whedabra irsa astahi, vur origato astahi ocuir soelae ios saurivic kaenin ini kirok" and while they wouldn't understand the words, some would likely recognize that it was a prayer. If the prayer was successful, those that were effected by it would no longer see the Darcsen with prejudice. The prayer itself was not to a specific god, but appealed to those that would hear the prayer, commonly refered to the Gods of Light peace.
12:16:30 Marisa would have been in awe of what was going on, if she had understood. A prayer to try and change the ways of how people viewed their kind. It worked, too, sort of. Those that were tottering on the edge, such as Rosie and a few others, would find the rest of their hate washed away. However, those that had a much more absolute hatred for them would find that they were tolerant of the Darcsen's presence. They may not like them, but they would at least leave them alone. Still, it didn't change enough that others stepped forward. In the twenty were Squad 7's leaders -- Alicia, Largo, Rosie and Welkin, after seeing Welkin step forward. Marisa, Marina and Selvaria all stepped forward as well as Nadine, a good friend of Marisa's. The rest were made up of a mix of Darcsen and non from the other squads in the 3rd regiment.... and then, five more would step forward. 25 out of 200. Not a bad amount, and a higher percentage (of those there at least) than the queen promised to give in five years. In any case, it didn't seem like any more were coming forward (though Isara was also in the 25, forgot to say that). They were simply awaiting the man's next orders. Of course, Eleanor was staying behind to help her Regiment with the last parts of cleaning up after war, and in case her country needed her again.
12:22:13 Andreas` smiles as he placed the mace back in his belt, knowing that it would take time, but he was confident that in time, hatred of the Darcsen would wane. He would then look around "Thank you for your time, those of you that chose not to join, your may leave now, the twenty five that have volunteered, please stay" as he smiled. Once the rest left, he would turn to Marisa, Isara and the other Darcsen "If you have ways of communicating with the rest of the people like you, then I would like you to extend an invitation to your people, tell them that they may start a new life on Caledon, where I am sure they will find no prejudice against them there" as he smiles.
12:28:50 Marisa gave a nod when Andreas addressed them about sending a message. "I will. But don't expect too much. Most of us have formed a bond with one another that goes beyond the hatred thrown our way." A glance to Nadine was given, then back to Andreas. "And for those not here right now, this is simply their home, and they wish to bring equality to Darcsens here, rather than take the easy way out and just simply start anew." A shrug was given. "So... I guess it's time to say our final goodbyes and all that?" she asked, looking at the others. "... I don't really have anyone to say bye to, so I'll stay here until everyone's ready." There were a couple others like that, too, while the rest, if Andreas said it was okay, would leave to say goodbye to their families, friends and loved ones.
12:34:47 Andreas` nods "Thats fine, I didn't expect all of them, I simply felt it would be a courtesy to extend the invitation, as for saying goodbyes, you are all allowed to bring your families with you" as he looked at everyone around them. He then chuckled "Of course, when we arrive on Caledon, you will all be going to the Imperial Palace to meet my father, he will welcome you all into the empire as the Emperor" as he smiled. It was the first time that he had actually stated just who his father was, none other than the Emperor of the Caledonian Empire himself.

22:12:50 [`Azizah`] Fresh off a cargo vessel, the fiery eyed hitchhiker surveyed her surroundings with her lower lip pinched between her teeth. Of course she'd have no idea where to go from here. She never did. That was part of the fun! A new place to explore, for days, or weeks if she desired. Finding places to dance; whether that be in a pub, gentleman's club, to the music provided by other street performers, or that which she had on her music player when she hooked it to a pair of small speakers. Always she would dance with flame and ribbon in hand. Just looking at her one couldn't really tell more the who and what of her, aside from her humanoid appearance with long, dark brown hair that fell along her back in a thick braid, her sun darkened skin offset beautifully by her silken garments and the few pieces of jewelry that she possessed (see profile image). Like her eyes, that seemed to glow with fire, Azizah was a lively little mystery full life, but.... really, she wasn't the sharing, type. So her mysteries are a mystery. Everything from her home planet to her age is kept from the world. Well.... this pretty little dancer couldn't very well hang around a dingy little docking bay all day doing absolutely nothing could she? NO! Time to explore this new world! And off she went, bracelets and anklets jingling as her slipper enclosed feet carried her off into the crowded city.
