Here is an idea for a basic and simple way to do battle with vehicle.
Ship Class: Each ship class has a number of life point depending of the ship size.
- Strike Craft: 3hp
- Corvettes/Gunships: 5hp
- Frigates: 7hp
- Destroyers: 9hp
- Cruisers: 11hp
- Battleships: 12hp
- Carriers: 14hp
- Super- Carriers: 15hp
- Dreadnoughts: 16hp
- Super-Dreadnoughts: 18hp
- Hyper-Dreadnoughts: 20hp
Each ship as a chance of 80% to touch a ship if its own size and does 2hp of dmg against it's own class. these value change when fight a different ship class.
If firing at a ship of a smaller class the hit chance decrease by 10% by ship class difference and increase by 5% if firing at a larger ship.
The dmg increase by 1hp by class ship smaller but decrease by 1 by ever 2 ship size bigger.
Fight: Fight turns work by turn and but turns are considered 'simultaneous'. meaning, even if player 1 shut down player 2, player to still have a turn to shoot back. so it is possible to a draw.
When the a player craft is destroyed:
NPC craft and character dies without unless relevant to the story after the battle.
Player however have 3 solutions that can be discussed between them:
1 - The down player are captured/pickup by the winning side of the battle
2 - The down player are pick up by their own factions 'days' after the fight and they have survived because they were able to keep the cockpit intact and they were able to survive with the survival system of the ship that freeze them until they get unfreezed by some outside help
3 - Decide for between you, were you captured by salvager and get somewhere else, did you make a re-entry and survived the crash. The option are endless.
Skill/equipment:
Skill and equipment are used to allow more complexity in a fight. Some skill or equipment can't be used depending on the size of the ship: There are 5grade skill and 3 grade of equivalence
Piloting(Skill/Equipment): Piloting allow a better bonus on avoiding getting shot
Untrained/No equipment: +10 to get hit meaning that the chance of touching you is 90% instead of 80%
Trained/Rank1 basic equipment: No bonus.
Journeyman/Rank2 standard equipment: -5 to get hit meaning 75% to touch
Expert/Rank3 advanced equipment: -10 to get hit meaning 70% to get hit
Master: -20 to get hit meaning 60% to get hit
Godlike: -30 to get hit meaning 50% to get it hit
Note: All lever piloting are available for Corvet and lower. Equipment are available only on shipclass Frigate or higher.
Vehicle Weaponry(Skill/Equipment): this skill that would help hitting other ship. it is a counter measure to Piloting
Untrained/No equipment: -10% to hit the target
Trained/Rank1 basic equipment: No bonus.
Journeyman/Rank2 standard equipment: +5% to hit the target
Expert/Rank3 advanced equipment: +10% to hit the target
Master/Rank4 Superior: +20% to hit the target
Godlike: +30% to hit the target
Note: All lever skill are available for Corvet and lower. Equipment are available only on shipclass Frigate or higher up to Rank4.
