[Ria] Sleep was like a damp wool blanket stapled to the floor to keep her in bed, heavy, and damn near impossible to move, but she needed to drag herself out of bed. Her parents had been absolutely shocked, and excited that their little girl had gotten out of her mechanical eggshell long enough to date a guy, much less decide to eternally tie herself to him. The news had lead to heavy drinking on their end, and several hours talking to random family members with advice and questions of all kinds. Thank the gods it was her day off. A scalding shower, and a bagel smothered in cream cheese later she was starting to feel like a member of the living again. Wearing a pair of well fitting pants, and a tank-top, she left her crimson hair down to dry. Ria needed to go see Mr. Talburt about parts for her next project, and see if there were any requests from any of his customers for her, then it was back to the hospital to tell her loving fiancé about the trouble he was already causing her. Mr. Talburt, apparently, had been among those celebrating her engagement; something made obvious by the fact that he looked even more tired than she felt, and had that hung over look in his eyes. It didn't stop him from smiling and greeting her with a cheerful rendition of the wedding march. “Hello Mr. Talburt.” she rolled her eyes at him “anything new and interesting today?” she tried to keep things work related. Even if that work was just a hobby she used to bring more money to Mr. Talburt's old scrap shop. “Nothing yet today.” he gave a slow shake of the head and avoided meeting her eyes, probably so she wouldn't see how bloodshot they were “it's too early yet for business. More importantly, where's this beau of yours?” she shrugged and let the work stuff go, since there was none to be had it seemed, or he didn't want to give it up til he got the personal stuff out of the way first. “I'm on my way to the hospital to see him after I'm done here.” the old man's brows rose “he's a doctor or nurse?” she shook her head “A patient.... for the time being, which means I can't really stay to answer too many questions.” he gave her a funny look “What happened that he's in the hospital?” - “He was badly wounded, and before you ask any more questions, he's a good man, and that's about all I'm willing to share until he's out and everyone can meet him for themselves.” she crossed her arms over her chest “and if you tell my parents about this conversation I won't come in for a month. The last thing I need is my parents hounding me.” his response was a knowing look, “Alright, off with you then. You're no fun, go enjoy your day off.” “yup” she said, and left the shop. On her way to the hospital and Bhais, she thought of different ways to take care of family introductions. She'd seen the emperor in passing once or twice, but actually meeting the man was a little... unnerving. There was also the matter of introducing him to her family. That wasn't nearly as disquieting as his family, but the shock would lead to some interesting conversations. By the time she reached his room, she'd thought of about 30 of the questions and accusations that her mother would direct at her when she asked her to help in the kitchen, leaving the guys to have guy time. Yikes...
10:23:14 Bhais Alllright then! He’d just finished eating his breakfast the moment his fiancé walked through the door. Currently he was standing up actually hobbled over the bed climbing back in, he was able to walk now, for a bit, and he’d just departed the rest room. Glancing toward the door as it opened he offered her a smile as he stopped and hobbled his way over toward her, via use of a cane. He didn’t like looking like this in front of just anyone, but she was different. Upon reaching her, an arm wrapped around her waist as he pulled her in close for a kiss. “Did you sleep well? I didn’t…not with the pending announcement coming to light soon as my father gets here, in fact I’m pleasantly surprised he’d yet to come and visit me, though he’s an awfully busy man. I figured he’d wish to see the heir to his throne.” With a roll of his shoulders, he let a sigh lapse from his lips as he motioned out the doors. “Shall we go for a walk? I would like to get some fresh air, if you’re up for it.”
[Ria] Seeing him hobbling about gave her mixed feelings. On one hand she was worried moving around so much already would upset his injuries, on the other she was glad to see him up and about, because it meant he was healing well. Meeting him, there was that momentary stiffness, but it was gone in an instant as she wrapped her arms around him. Their kiss left the taste of him on her lips, something she always enjoyed “My family kept me awake all night, so I didn't sleep well either.” she admitted with a laugh “well... my mom did. The party in the background probably kept her up.” she might have shrugged, but her shoulders didn't move much. “Sure, if you're up to it, I wouldn't mind a walk. And don't worry yourself too much. It's not like he'd get so mad he'd order an execution over it.”
10:47:17 Bhais chuckled. Execution…his father do such a thing? No, never! Licking this tip lip in the middle to get some of her taste upon his tongue, a cold shiver ran down his spine as he glanced toward the wheel chair. “If it would make you much more comfortable, I could always sit in that.” He spoke, gesturing toward her. “Your mom…they threw a party already? Darn, sad to see that I missed it.” He smiled, beneath the impression it was a bachelorette party, but it probably wasn’t, he didn’t know anything about party she’d mentioned yesterday, well didn’t mention should say! Taking a deep breath, he hobbled over toward the wheel chair and sat down in it holding the cane in his lap. “Shall we love?” he asked looking up at her with a smirk. He’d do the same for her, if conditions were reversed, take care of her, wait on her hand and foot!
10:52:31 Andreas` knocks on the door frame as he watched Ria and Bhais "So, how is my idiot half-brother doing today?" a grin on his lips as he made the friendly taunt. He had been able to find time to come and see Bhais, though their father couldn't since as Emperor, he was even busier than the Lord Marshal was. He knew that Bhais understood that, since their father had a lot more to worry about, especially with the war currently going on between the Futurans and Genlai
[Ria] “You can walk if you want, I'm not that worried.” she snorted in amusement, “Technically my brothers and father through a party. It was only the four of them and Mr. Talburt, an old family friend, who supplies me with my bits and bobs for tinkering... all they did was drink and sing off key in the background. Something about breaking a mechanical egg.” personally she was glad she'd not gone home to talk to her family. Being tired after a call that lasted half the night was better than being completely sleep deprived and hung over. Moving behind the chair to push him, she laughed softly and moved to kiss him on the head, before a knock on the door caught her attention. Ria gave Andreas a short bow in greeting, and let Bhais answer the taunt while she suppressed a laugh.
12:22:23 Bhais nodded. Okay so it wasn't for her, alright then. Staring down his brother the moment he stepped in and started insulting him, he rolled his eyes. "Because you're oh so very special, aren't you? Dearest brother, heavy weighs the crown to the one whom bares it...this was an assassination attempt, not a form of idiocy." he spoke up, motioning along. "We were just headed for some fresh air, you should join us...there's something we need to discuss." he spoke, placing a hand atop Ria's and looking up at her. He was sure his dearest brother would get the several gestures the two made toward one another. If he hadn't, then Bhais wasn't the one deserving of an 'Idiot' title, Andreas was....
12:58:26 Andreas` nods "I know, I was only kidding, anyway, father did say that he hopes you recover soon, and expressed his regret for not being able to come and see you, he's also fully confident in your recovery, and said that your too stubborn to die" as he chuckled. He would then walk beside them, he had noticed the signals between Bhais and Ria, but chose to simply chose to ignore them for now until they said something about it themselves. While Bhais was a few months older than him, he and Bhais were technically the same age.<E>
13:03:44 Veda` ---The journey to the Caledonian Capital was not as long as Veda had expected. The vessel taken was nothing that the Fae woman had ever seen before… and her chambers had been appropriate for her station and rank. Servants upon the ship having helped her discard her worn and bloodied gown, bathed in the purest of waters and perfumes, and redressed within a Caledonian styled gown of gold silks and a long, draping hemline. Blonde curls were set in a simply braid, as was custom for a Fae woman who was unwed, and thus presented to a new court. –Yet her beauty did little to dissuade the far off look in her eyes. For as they landed and were escorted off the ship, slipping into technological vehicles of the most prime in ingenuity and advancement, Veda merely stared out the window of the vessel. Taking in the sights of the city she would now call her home… And wondering for the briefest of moments, whom exactly the Emperor would place her future upon. Would it be one of his sons? Or perhaps a noblemen who he favored…? Or- even still, perhaps a traitor he wished to keep an eye on, and in doing so, would place Veda as a watchful spy upon the man? She really wasn’t sure who exactly this Emperor truly was… and how he thought in terms of ruling his great Nation. …Yet she only real truth she could hold onto at present was the fact that her mother and sisters were safe for now, and what she was doing here was for the greater good of her own Clan, and the Fae people as a whole.:: <e>
13:09:37 Emperor_Tigeir was in his office, though he was standing at the window staring out at the lush forests around the Imperial Palace. He could see the city from his vantage point, since the Imperial Gardens were massive, containing three parts. The outer part that was nearest the city held dangerous creatures, acting as a natural defense against intrusion. The only safe way through was through the use of vehicles traveling down the main road. The outer part was roughly four hundred and thirty square kilometers in size, so was it was substantial. The next part was the center area, and was relatively safe, and was home to creatures that could only be found there, such as the unicorns. Unicorns had once been spread throughout Caledon, but they had been hunted for centuries by unscrupulous sorts, and eventually were relocated to the safety of the Imperial Gardens by Imperial troops, now they thrived, and in turn, the center area thrived as well. The inner ring was a beautiful and carefully maintained area that was ideal for children to play in, as well as to read and just relax. Many of his children had played in that area as children, and he missed the sound of their laughter. The palace itself was a beautiful structure of graceful spires and white marble, and was believed to be the oldest structure on Caledon, since it was one of the few relics left from the Silverin Kingdom of ancient times. He was now awaiting the arrival of Marshal Warsworn, and Princess Veda, having already considered several possibilities and had come to a decision.
[Ria] Brothers would be brother, she rolled her eyes. Trapped between three of them and a half sister, she was pretty used to this from her own siblings. It took away from any awkwardness she might have otherwise felt. Patting Bhais' shoulder, she grinned at him, before his hand covered her own, softening her smile a little. “alright, onwards, before he changes him mind and tries to walk” she was referring to Bhais, obviously, as she pushed the wheelchair forward. “talk as we go.”
13:25:24 Bhais Talk as they go? Yes, might as well, everyone after all is going to find out eventually right? "I've been seeing Ria for awhile now, Andreas...for a very, very long time." he spoke, hoping his brother would remain quiet for now, this next part was delicate, he had to of course just come out and say it, however his reaction would be the tell tail sign of either acceptance or rejection for his actions. "She's my fiancé, I do apologize for keeping such a secret, however I fell for her and was concerned about the family's thoughts on the matter. However, now that it's in the light...your reaction would be quite accepted, no matter what. You're my brother, and I love you...But I also love her...she'll eventually be the Empress....my wife."
13:29:56 Andreas` looked at Bhais and laughed "I don't mind that she's your fiance, after all, she's not of our blood, so there is no issue with any laws that I can think of, and as for her being Empress, I have no idea, since as you know, the process of selecting a heir does not mean that it falls automatically to the eldest child, its because the previous Emperors and Empress's chose the best candidates for the position that the empire has prospered, although the sixth Emperor was definitely not the best choice" as he frowned. Their father was the 11th Emperor, and the 6thEmperor had started out well, but eventually lost his mind and had to be removed from power by the Council of Lords, and the 7th Emperor was selected and fixed the mess left by the 6th Emperor.<E>
13:39:27 Veda` felt her gaze waver to the high arches of the Palace’s ceilings. Caught off guard by the beauty of the architecture and immaculate columns and glass, the Princess nearly forgot where she was exactly. Following the Lord Marshal and hissmall party, as well as a few handmaidens who had been hired to assist Veda with whatever she needed, the Fae woman prepared herself for the first meeting of the Emperor of the Nords, pausing momentarily as two large, white marbled doors were slowly opened to reveal a large scaled study. Veda gradually glanced over to Archaeus’s back, still having spared not a single word to the man since they had left Hjaalmarch several days ago. He gestured for them all to enter, greetings ensued as all the men bowed to their sovereign. Veda followed suit, bowing before the Emperor as she looked to the floor.:: “Your Majesty…” ::She spoke softly to him now as her title was given. Her acceptance and acknowledgment would only be granted by Tigeir as she waited for his sign to rise… And once it was given, she would obey. Standing slowly and lifting her chin somewhat proudly as she looked into the eyes of the man who had ordered the slaying of her father. A Nord man who undoubtedly had the weight of the world upon his shoulders…Yet this truth did little to calm her nerves, nor make her feel better about her own father’s death. She simply put those feelings to the side for now. Hazel hues wavering from the Emperor, to the Lord Marshal, everyone holding their breaths for what was to come next.::
[Ria] Ria mostly just listened to them talking. While she was involved in the whole matter, being the fiance in question, the two were taking things over well enough without her input. The matter of the line of succession really, really didn't matter to her. Long as they were happy together, and she could still work and tinker while she adjusted all would be well enough off. The mention of the sixth Emperor had her making a funny sound. She'd never enjoyed history class, but that was one in the line of succession that seemed to be a thorny issue for a lot of people; who could blame them for the mess that was left by the mad man's rule. When her hair started to get annoying, the long strands that had, once upon a time, been her bangs falling into her face now that her hair was pretty much dry, she let go of the chair to pull her hair back while they wheeled along.
14:16:07 Emperor_Tigeir turned to the group as the entered, watching as they bowed to him and then introduced Princess Veda to him. He would raise one hand towards her "Stand Princess Veda, it is a pleasure to meet you, even if it is under regrettable circumstances" as he sighed heavily, regret could be heard on his strong, authoritative voice. He was surprisingly young for a Nord, only two decades older than Archaeus himself who stood beside her. He would then look to her with a sad smile on his lips "I very much regret your father's death, but he died as a warrior, Archaeus understood this because he too is a warrior" as he nodded to Archaeus. He then shook his head "There were several options I considered with what to do with you, but in the end, the best option for you, for your people, and for the empire is simple, you shall wed Marshal Warsworn, and become Lady Warsworn" as he looked at her. He then placed his hand on her shoulder, gently squeezing her shoulder "I know that your grief is raw and painful right now and that it seems like it won't end, but given time and support, it will lessen, and eventually you will come to realize that your father loved you, and though he is gone, he is still with you, for he now lives in your heart and mind, and a person only ever truly dies when he is forgotten, as long as you remember him, he will never die" as he smiles gently to her.
14:23:56 Aishara ::: Staying quiet since her one horrid Visit to the city. She missed this world but at the same time she wishes she could be back on Prismara's home planet. She was bored. Always bored. She was going to go visit Serene int he hospital after she learned from the Pink Lady that she was attacked. She was on her way to the infirmary, repeating rhymes of spells in no particular order to see if anything happens. Not to her of course. Only to things like change a bush's shape or the flowers color. She arrives that the hospital and starts to ask about the Lady Serene. She has become good friends with. She was happy that they were "related" and she took pride in being able to teach the magic that her family is known for, her culture to them. She doesn't know what else to do.
14:46:49 Ursulla ~*~ Wary of what was happening, she was almost afraid to leave the confines of the palace grounds without some form of escort. She was released to the custody of the Emperor until they could assure her safety and find her home. Sun Elves like her were rare breed. In fact, most of the ones with her coloration are usually hidden from public. Although she was different, she was the "princess" of her kin. As much as she could be. They all served under Tigeir's flag, but had their own small ruling court. Her father was chieftain of their people, and she was his only child. Her long bicolored hair fluttered loosely in the wind. Her form adorned a pale peach dress that was loose around her frame. It resembled a Grecian dress more than anything. No sleeves, floor length, and hooked around her neck. She wore simple flats, that concealed her toes. Her arms had bandages around the injured areas and she was munching on some fruit. She paces the halls, watching others and seeing the parade of a new face she doesn't recall. A beautiful one nonetheless, she follows. Hearing words of death and honor. And no she realized that this girl may be tribute of some kind? A peace offering? She shook her head as she leans her bare back against the cool stone and waits. She was hoping to see him again after that situation days ago. She wanted to actually see him on an equal level....speak with him. She raised a long nailed tan hand to her face and felt her cheeks burning with heat. What was she feeling? She didn't know.
16:10:47 Veda` studied the Emperor before her now… Hewas indeed young in appearance, much more so than even Veda hadenvisioned, but he held his composure in check. Speaking to herfreely about the regret he felt for the war between their people, howhe had hoped for a different outcome, but in the end- her father had died a great warrior of his Clan, and he would never be forgotten. …She too held herself in check as this Nord Emperor spoke on behave of her father, of how her loss most likely waspungent and hard to bare now, but with time… her grief would lessen, and she would come to realize that everything that had happened, happened for the better of her people. Giving a solemn nodin his direction, she accepted his words, however deafening they might have been to her in the moment. But… what he said next, thatwas what caught her attention. ”- the best option for you, for your people, and for the empire is simple, …you shall wed Marshal Warsworn, and become Lady Warsworn.” Veda nearly choked on herown breath at that point! Hazel hues emerging like saucers, sheglanced from Emperor Tigeir to the Marshal now. The very Nord who had KILLED her only father in this world! And now!? After allthe pain, all the suffering her and her family had endured, theEmperor expected her to MARRY this man!?!? Of ALL men in the Galaxy!? … Veda could feel her anger rise, her hands turning slightly into fists as she fought he urge to yell! No… to SCREAM! –Instead though, she held her tongue as best as she could. Looking from Archaeus to the Emperor yet again, then bowing to his wishes… as only a true, captured Princess would. Veda simply stared athis feet, speaking diligently to him-:: “Yes. Of course your Grace. I am a ward to your Empire now… and thus so, I shall obey your wishes and the choice you have made for my future.” ::-Ugh…it was awful for her to bow to this man. To pretend like she accepted this match he had chosen so willfully in manner! I mean… what did he gain from this union? Did he truly understand that he was to wed a woman to a man who had KILLED the ONLY person in her life who had taught and loved her all these years!? The taste of it in Veda’s mouth nearly made her be sick right then and there… Though she held her composure as best as she could muster atpresent. Awaiting whatever response the Emperor had, as well asArchaeus for that matter!::
16:19:38 Emperor_Tigeir knew whatwas going through Veda's mind and gently cupped her chin in hishand and made her look at him. He smiled gently "Listen to meVeda, Marshal Warsworn did not want to kill your father, your father forced him into that position because your father would have kept fighting and led to more bloodshed on both sides, of theonly two options he had, Marshal Warsworn chose the lesser of two evils, and neither choice was a good choice, the only other option he had was to completely slaughter your people, and he didnot want that, so he chose the only option that would end the war quickly" as he looked at her. He then looked at Archaeus "I've known Marshal Warsworn for a long time, and he is a good man, he stays calm in battle, and thinks several moves ahead, he is also akind and gentle man, and if you look at him now, you will see that he regrets having to kill your father, but he knows that he had no choice" as he smiles sadly. He hoped that his words wouldpenetrate Veda's grief and reach her, for she knew her father and that he would have fought until nothing of their people was left. Now her people had a future, and all the signs pointedto prosperity and peace for them.<E>
16:38:03 Veda` froze whenshe felt the Emperor’s hand touch her chin softly in manner… Her doe-like hues reaching his own, and her breath catching in herchest cavity some from the physical interaction they shared. –In Fae culture, it was quite unthinkable to touch a pure blooded,Fae woman ((let alone a Princess)) without any past interactionor courting beforehand. So… when his rough hand caressed that chin of her’s, Veda hesitated a moment, then swiftly turned her face away from him. A small blush coming to her cheeks as she wasnot used to such handling from a man, much less a Nord for thatmatter!:: “Yes. I understand your Grace.” ::-She just needed tobe alone. …This. All of it! Veda couldn’t bare anymore regretful words, or anymore revelations for her future furthermore. …Andshe certaintly could not face her betrothed. Keeping her gaze cast downward as she spoke softly-:: “I am very tired from the journey your Grace…” ::Gradually she would look back to Emperor Tigeir yet again.:: “With your permission… I wish to rest for a time.” ::It was a statement more so than a question, really… However- she knew he would grant her at least this one, small request. I mean… she was very much exhausted from everything going on around her, andthe sooner she regained herself… Perhaps some light could be found from her solace. But… for now, she felt like running. Like fleeing the Capital and never returning. So many emotions coursing through her magical veins, that undoubtedly Vedaalso needed tosleep. Sleep would help her process it all… Or, at least help her become numb to it.::
17:05:54 Emperor_Tigeir nods to her "Alright, by the way, I have a message from your mother and sisters, they said that they pray for your safety and health, as well as your happiness" as he looks at her. He then looked to a Custodes Legatus "Show here to the chambers that have been made available to her, and have a trio of Sclabhai assigned to her to help her handmaidens" as the Custodes Legatus in his ornate armor saluted. The soldier would then lead Veda to the opulent and richlyfurnished set of rooms for her use. The windows also looked outover a beautiful and tranquil lake, and amazingly enough, therewas a small herd of unicorns drinking at the lake.<
17:35:55 [DG_GM] .:The prison known as Frost Mountain Citadel was located in the far north, well into the frozen wastes of the Frozen Reach Tundra. It was also one of the few locations onCaledon outsidethe Imperial Zone to have advanced technology, which was essential to keep the occupants inside warm. Located within the bleak Hromgar Mountains, Frozen Mountain Citadel was the largest prison on Caledon, as it was build directly into the mountain. Here, a female dominated family, along with a few hundred guards housed some of the worst criminals in the empire. Their crimes were so terrible that they were sent to this frozen hell to erase their existence. Everyone knew that to try and escape the prison meant death, either on the tundra, or to be blown out of the sky due to a lack of authorization codes. The keeper of the prison wasa ruthless woman who headed the female clan that ran the prison, and was a good friend of the Emperor's, thoughironicalty enough, there were no political prisoners at Frozen Mountain.:.
17:37:12 [Zaira] Screams echoed down the dark, stone corridor, creating an agonizing sound that could easily drive a human mad. Zaira Shadows had learned to tune the noise out long ago, moved downthe shadowed hall with a spear in her hand. The spear was steeland spelled with magic. It's curved, deadly head holding a red, glowing eye at the center. The light from thateye touched the shadows, drove back the creatures housed in theprison cells around her. Black hair flowing down her back, she walked without a sound, glancing into the prison cells. Her darksuit fitted like a second skin and if it weren't for the glowing light, and her redeyes, she would have been completely undetectable. Although sheappeared dressed for combat, she was actually in the clothes she wore indoors. As strange as some might find it, the bowels of the prison felt like home to her. She knew every being inside, had roamed the halls for as long as she couldremember, and took her duty as Keeper of the Citadel very seriously. Emerging from the bowels of the prison, she turned down a corridor, going toward the wing of The Frost Citadel that housedher living quarters. These quarters weren't much different fromthe dark and shadowed hallways. Finding direct sunlight harsh on her sensitive, red eyes, she had very few windows, and dark, opulent furniture.
17:41:43 Andreas` had decided to go to Frozen Mountain to inspect the prison and make sure everything was there. The prison was kept off the record, and the supplies were organized through a elite group of Caledonian Intelligence so that there was no way to trace where the supplies came from, or where they were going. He watched as the shuttle approached the prison, one massive slab of the mountain opening on the calm side of the mountain, allowing for safe approach. Soon enough the shuttle touched down in thehangar, and the massive hangar bay door closed behind them, blocking out the cold and snow. The Keeper had likely been informedof his approach, and he knew she was likely to be waiting for him just outside the hangar.
17:56:40 [Zaira] Stripping from herblack clothing, Zaira slipped into an almost identical outfit, the only difference being the softer material and color— ruby red. A pair of boots that reached her kneescame next, followed by a thick, dark cloak. Although the cold climate didn't effect her, she didn't want to expose her family'ssecrets, keep every advantage she had. She moved outside on soundless feet, coming to stand on the Citadel stairs. She had a visitor coming very soon, could feel the mountain opening to allowhim entrance, and sighed at the thought of wasting precious time to see him. She made herway down the stairs and to their agreed upon meeting place. Guards moved in formation behind her, invisible to the naked eye. As the hanger door opened, she simply stared at the man on the opposite side, waiting for him to state his purpose.
17:59:52 Andreas` saw Zaira and approached her "Greetings Keeper Zaira, we have not met before, I am Andreas Tigeir, Lord Marshal and Prince" as he smiled. While he did state his ranks, he did not put any emphasis on them, revealing that he had done so only so that she knew who he was. He would then lookaround "My father would have come himself, but matters of statekeep him in the capital, soI came instead, he wishes to know if there is any issues or situations we should know about" as he looked at Zaira.
18:07:16 [Zaira] “You will forgive me for not addressing you as Prince,” Zaira said, not a trace of regret on her strangely beautiful face. “But titles do not matter here. Unless it's mine.” She turned then, her black hair whipping in thewind. With those words, she had clearly marked her territory. No one was above the law on Frozen Mountain, not even a prince. The guards, invisible, and as opposing as the mountains, moved insilent formation behind them. They were every where, no where, could communicate with her without a word. “Follow me, Andreas Tigeir,” and without a further word, she took him into the citadel.
